Sri Maha Ganapathy

Sri MahaGanapathy is the eldest son of Shiva & Parvathi Devi. He is elephant headed and is the main god invoked before the start of pujas or any auspicious undertakings. He is remover of obstacles and giver of success. His vehicle is the rat Mooshika and Ganapathy is usually shown holding a bowl of laddu sweets along with a noose, goad and lotus. He shows abaya (fealess) and vara (blessings) mudras. He represents the muladhara chakra in human body.
